Travis County
Retired and Senior Volunteer Program
Austin, Texas

The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program, RSVP, provides people age 55 or older the opportunity to apply their life experience to meet community needs through volunteer service. RSVP volunteers serve in a diverse range of non-profit organizations, public agencies, and faith-based groups. Among other things, they tutor at-risk students, deliver meals to frail elderly, lend their business skills to community groups that provide critical social services, assist our police departments in homeland security efforts, and serve in museums. However they choose to serve, RSVP volunteers play an important role in making central Texas a better place to live.

Corporation for National and Community Service

Senior Corps taps the skills, talents, and experience of more than half a million Americans age 55 and older to meet community needs in education, the environment, public safety, homeland security, and other areas. Senior Corps is administered by the Corporation for National and Community Service, which also oversees AmeriCorps and Learn and Serve America.
